Connecting PO Flow to your Shopify store

How PO Flow connects to your Shopify store and what data it accesses.

How PO Flow connects to Shopify

PO Flow is a native Shopify embedded app, which means it runs directly inside your Shopify Admin. There is no separate login, no external dashboard to visit, and no manual data sync required. Everything happens in real time through Shopify's API.

What PO Flow reads from Shopify

  • Products and variants — so you can search your catalogue when adding line items to a PO.
  • Inventory levels — so PO Flow knows current stock quantities at each location before and after receiving.
  • Locations — so you can choose which location receives inventory when stock arrives.
  • Orders — so you can import line items from open Shopify sales orders into a PO.
  • Vendors — so you can link suppliers to Shopify vendor names for accurate reporting.

What PO Flow writes to Shopify

  • Inventory quantities — updated automatically when you confirm a receipt in PO Flow.
  • Product costs — updated when you use the Cost Update on Receipt feature (Pro plan).

Data security

PO Flow only accesses the data it needs. Your customer data, payment information, and personal details are never accessed or stored by PO Flow. All communication between PO Flow and Shopify uses encrypted HTTPS connections and Shopify's official API authentication system.
