Setting a default vendor on a product

Linking your PO Flow suppliers to Shopify vendor names allows PO Flow to associate products with their correct supplier automatically. This is particularly useful when importing from Shopify orders, where items are grouped by vendor.

How vendor linking works

In Shopify each product has a Vendor field. In PO Flow each supplier has a Shopify Vendor Name field in their Purchasing Settings. When these match, PO Flow can identify which supplier a product belongs to.

How to link a supplier to a Shopify vendor

1. Go to Suppliers and open the supplier profile.
2. Click the Purchasing Settings tab.
3. Click the Shopify Vendor Name field. A searchable dropdown will appear showing all vendor names from your Shopify products.
4. Select the matching vendor name from the list. If the vendor does not exist yet in Shopify, type the name and it will be saved as a free-text entry.
5. Click Save.

How to set the vendor on a Shopify product

1. In Shopify Admin go to Products and open the product.
2. Find the Vendor field in the product details.
3. Enter the vendor name exactly as it appears on the supplier's Purchasing Settings in PO Flow.
4. Click Save.

Once linked, products from this vendor will be automatically associated with the correct supplier when importing from Shopify orders.
