Partial receiving

Receive less than the ordered quantity to move the PO into partial status; receive again later to complete it.

Partial receiving

Suppliers often ship in multiple shipments. PO Flow handles this with the partial status — any PO that has received some but not all of its line item quantities is partial.

Recording a partial receipt

  1. Open the PO and click Receive Stock.
  2. Enter the quantity actually received on each line. Leave 0 (or untouched) for lines that arrived in this shipment with no units.
  3. Click Confirm Receipt.

The PO moves to partial if any line is still outstanding. The next time more stock arrives, click Receive Stock again — PO Flow shows the remaining quantity per line so you only enter what came in this time.

Completing a partial PO

The PO moves to received automatically once all line item quantities have been received in full across one or more receipts.

If a shipment will never come

If you do not expect the rest of the order, use Close PO from the PO header to manually close the PO. See Closing and cancelling a PO for the difference between close and cancel.
