Receiving inventory
The Receive Stock modal records what arrived, syncs Shopify on-hand inventory, and creates a receipt record.
Receiving inventory
When stock arrives, use Receive Stock to record what came in. PO Flow updates Shopify on-hand inventory at the selected location and creates a receipt record you can refer back to.
How to receive
- Open the PO from the Purchase Orders list.
- Click Receive Stock.
- Pick the Location the inventory is arriving at.
- Set the quantity being received for each line. Defaults to the outstanding quantity for that line.
- Click Confirm Receipt.
What happens after you confirm
- Shopify on-hand inventory increases at the selected location for every received line.
- A Receipt is created and listed in the Receipts section of the PO.
- If all lines are fully received, the PO moves to received. Otherwise, it moves to partial.
- An entry is added to the PO history.
Cost update on receipt (Pro)
If you have configured cost update on receipt in Settings (Pro plan), receiving stock can also update the variant's inventory unit cost in Shopify using either the Replace or Weighted average method. See the Cost update on receipt article for details.
