Cost update on receipt

Available on the Pro plan. When you receive stock, PO Flow can automatically update the variant's inventory unit cost in Shopify based on what you paid on the PO. This keeps your Shopify cost-of-goods data current without manual updates.

Methods

• None — the default. Receiving stock does not change Shopify cost.
• Replace — the variant's cost in Shopify is set to the unit cost on the PO line being received.
• Weighted average — Shopify cost is recalculated as a weighted average of the existing on-hand value and the received units at the PO line cost.

Configuring

1. Go to Settings → Cost Management.
2. Pick the method.
3. Optionally turn on Confirm before applying cost updates — this adds a preview step before the receipt is finalized.
4. Click Save.

Confirmation step

With confirmation on, after you confirm a receipt you see a preview showing the old cost, new cost, and method for each affected line. Click Apply cost updates to commit or Skip to receive without changing cost.

History

Every cost update is recorded on the PO history with the old and new cost.
